The Kidde 7DCO is a digital displayed alkaline battery operated Carbon Monoxide Detector with a 10 year sensor warranty, meaning that the sensor lasts longer than most other CO detectors.
CO detectors are now a requirement by law and a landlords responsibility to have installed in all residential premises, warning against the deadly gas known as carbon monoxide and also providing a continuous monitoring of CO levels around the home.
Please note that the 10 year applies to the sensor only, the batteries supplied with this unit are standard AA alkaline batteries.
CO detectors should be located on each level of the home, ideally close to fuel burning appliances and also sleeping areas.
Main sources of carbon monoxide are:
Clogged chimneys
Cracked or loose boiler flue
Improperly installed gas cooker, hob or hood
Corroded or disconnected water heater vent pipe
Gas or wood burning fireplaces
Portable paraffin or gas heaters
The 7DCO is easy to install as no wiring is required and is BSI certified to EN52091 Part 1 and 2 meaning it can be can be used in environments such as boats, caravans and motor homes.
The benefits of the digital peak level display are that it monitors and displays danger levels detected and can recall the highest levels detected.
