The Kidde K10SCO is a Combination Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detector unit ideal for living areas where space is limited but protection is paramount.
CO and smoke detectors are now a requirement by law and a landlord's responsibility to have installed in all residential premises, both detectors should be installed on each level of the home, ideally close to fuel-burning appliances and also sleeping areas.
The battery-operated detector has a voice alarm system that indicates which danger has been detected, the messages are:
‘Warning Carbon Monoxide’
'Fire, Fire’
'Caution, carbon monoxide previously detected'
'Hush mode activated'
Hush mode canceled'
'Low battery'
The main sources of carbon monoxide are:
Clogged chimneys
Cracked or loose boiler flue
Improperly installed gas cooker, hob, or hood
Corroded or disconnected water heater vent pipe
Gas or wood-burning fireplaces
Portable paraffin or gas heaters
