The Superlec M25FSW is a 25mm Fibre Sealing Washer, fibre sealing washers are used to maintain the IP rating between the cable gland and equipment.
Fibre sealing washers, when used in wet or cold environments will eventually break down over time depending on the temperature, although they do swell up and absorb better than nylon.
