Each Intelligent Mounting Base comes with an XPERT card, a universal addressing tool for fire alarm systems. These cards allow for easy address coding, making installation faster and more accurate. The XPERT cards are included with all bases and are used to set the correct address for each detector in the system.
To configure the address, consult the installation instructions in the coding guide to determine which pips need to be removed from the XPERT card. Once identified, place the card on a flat surface with the pips facing down. Use a screwdriver to twist and remove the designated pip from the reverse side. Once the card is coded, please insert it into the slot on the side of the mounting base, ensuring that the card locks securely into place. This straightforward process ensures that the detector is correctly addressed, reducing the chance of human error during installation.
As the detector is inserted into the mounting base, the remaining pips on the card activate the address buttons, allowing the detector electronics to read the address automatically.
